The name Sunset Cove Farm comes from a family member that liked to watch the sunsets over the cove and always thought the farm name should reflect that. Not every day has a beautiful sunset, but most do.
Watching the sun set over the cove is not the only thing that happens here on the farm. This is a small working farm growing wheat, soybeans and corn. Today, these grain crops grown by the farm are very different to grow from the vegetable crops that were cultivated 40 years ago. Back in the day, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, turnip greens and other vegetables that were grown kept the farm busy almost year round. On The Farm gives us the opportunity to educate the public about agriculture and lets landlords who live a distance from the land we rent from them to see what is happening with their property.
Antique farm tractors and machinery are collected here as well. A Ford or two, a few John Deeres and a Farmall and a Case. Milling lumber with a Wood-Mizer sawmill on a limited basis rounds out what happens here on the farm. The Sunset slide show lets us share the beauty we have been blessed with with the world
